Shawn Church at Church Auto uses E85 on a KW high boost kit. You could always send him an email or give him a call about it.

How much do you have to change in the fuel system to run that corrosive stuff?

I already got fuel pump and injector, thinking about upgrade those fuel lines since they aren't that expensive. Received my EMS today, still thinking if I should have my car tuned for 100 or E85, it's a full track car.

The problem is that E85 requires an AFR of 9.8 instead of 14.7 for gas.

What? *Sigh*. AFRs are typically on a lambda system, so you can tune your E85 using the same setup and read in "gasohol" type AFRs.

It is well known that it takes approximately 30-35% more ethanol than gasoline.

It is also well known that ethanol has an effective knock rating of 100-108, notice the word "effective knock rating".

It also burns at a cooler temperatures, helping lower internal combustion temperatures.

For an NA application this means you could raise timing/lean it out, however since NAs already run pretty lean, I would assume you could heavily ramp up the timing and balance that with lean AFRs compared to gasohol types.

If you do, please remember to change out your fuel filter after the first tank. Ethanol as pointed out previously is corrosive and will pull up all the "junk" in your stock tank and run it through the lines to the filter. So do a fuel filter change shortly after the switch.

Also, as a track car keep a wary eye on E85, it has a very short "shelf" life and will absorb water much faster than gas so it cannot be stored for very long.
