Default BIG BIG disappointment

So i went to dyno tune my04 with AEM EMS 1052. the final result came out really bad. i have J's intake, T1R header, J's test pipe, J's 60 RS single. the base run was 203 whp and 141 tq which i already felt disappointed. it ended up with 211 whp and 148 tq with 4200 vtec point and 8400 rev limit. i just can't believe how low the numbers are....especially all the parts on my04 are top brand stuff. so my thinking was " i spend $1100 (EMS) + $700 (tuning) for that 8 whp?" thats just too ridiculous. i've seen lots s2ks with less mods, less expensive mods or no ECU tuning had higher number than mine. i expected to get around atleast 220whp. i think that's everyone's expectation too. totally depressed. and one more thing depressed me was that they got 214 whp and 151 tq when my 60RS was taken off. so.......i'm just totally lost

this is the base vs tuned
red = J's intake, test pipe, 60RS and T1R header + AEM EMS
blue = J's intake, test pipe, 60RS and T1R header

this is base vs tuned without 60RS
blue = J's intake, test pipe, unconnected exhaust and T1R header + AEM EMS
green = J's intake, test pipe, 60RS and T1R header

When you say the exhaust was taken off, you mean you ran with an open header?

What kind of dyno? Kinda sounds like a DynoDynamics from the numbers.

What is the diameter on the J's test pipe? If it is larger than 60mm, then you are causing a constriction by forcing the gasses into the J's 60RS, and that may be leading to a harmonic resonance that impedes flow even more.

Also...what wheels were you running and how much do they weigh?

My Mase tuned car hit 215whp with EMS on a DynoDynamics with V2 intake, Toda header, T1R TP and 63mm single exhaust. So you're tuner may be leaving some hp on the table.

Welcome to NA S2Ks. It's a harsh reality.

Post your dyno at least. I bet your power curve is overall much better.

no matter what, can anyone explain that why all of my mods without the EMS have made only 203whp? 203 looks like stock power. i just feel like i spent $3k for no power gain
