Will coilovers void my warranty?
Hey all, I have a 2008 S2k, with only 800 miles on it. The mod bug has already bit me and im ready to buy some coilovers for it. I was wondering if installing coilovers will void anything on my warranty. I heard that it voids the part replaced, like my stock struts and springs wouldnt be covered, which really wouldnt matter anyway because theyll be replaced. So any help would be appreciated before I make my purchase. Thanks!

In a word...no. But, the dealership can attempt to deny coverage on anything that breaks that they can link to your modification. CV joints and suspension arms/bars would be pretty fair exclusions. If they're being harsh, they could push to exclude steering components, wheel hubs/bearings, halfshafts, etc. (anything where the geometry changes from a lowered ride height). It really depends on the dealer and how nice they want to be. Some don't really care at all, some are hard to work with.
Would I be worried about it...no. I don't expect any of these things to go wrong in a normal warranty period regardless of suspension changes.
