Default e cutout on NA

Do you guys think an exhaust cutout would be safe to do on NA untuned? Im just looking for a little more sound and/or power from my car. The ability to run open header to stock and anything in between is why its appealing.

Theres gotta be someone that has done this on NA. After looking at all these different exhaust setups. 60mm for midrange or 70mm for topend. wouldnt it just be logical to go w/ a cutout so you can adjust how open or stock you want. To have the topend of an open header or low-mid torque of stock exhaust on demand.

A 70mm has no disadvantages anywhere over 60mm.

Then why do ppl prefer aftermarket 60mm testpipe and exhaust? Is it because of noise level?

You loose some bottom end umph.

OP: It doesn't work like you think as far as a restrictor plate is concerned. You need the entire exhaust pipe to be the same size to get the flow correct. Capping a 70mm, won't make it act like a 60mm.

My Greddy Ti-C w/o the silencer is f'n retarded. The drone is horrible. At 90 it goes away though.

As doing something like a test pipe into a turn down you will HATE life. I ran my car with a berk header, 60mm tp, and no exhaust around the block for fun and after 5 seconds it wasnt fun anymore.

I have a cut out right after my test pipe, heres the review on a untuned car. Loud(real bassy sound), downlow power is absolutely gone making the car feel slughish. Not worth it unless your planing on tuning it.

No power increase at all, just a ton of noise and raspyness.
