Is J's more suited for stock inlet manifold or spoon?

Thanks
i have been doing some research on both of the TB's. the bolt pattern from both line up. however, spoon's matches the intake manifold inlet at 64mm. the j's give you the option to bump it to 66mm uppon request. however that mean machining is required to match port the manifold. j's can be purchaced for as little as $480usd vs spoon's $625usd right now if you call evasive. it is however coming from japan, they told me that it will take 8-12 weeks for delivery. hope this helps.
I have the J's TB, and mine doesn't fit perfectly. There's a 1mm overlap on the right side of the intake manifold. I would port it out if I thought it was worth it on a N/A, but truth be told...it's not! I'll reconsider one day if I go FI.

Thanks I'm thinking the spoon v2 is best suited due the matched exit size has anyone used or got gains with most bolt ons? thanks.
i could tell the mid and top end was better when we installed it...however there were some flat spots i could feel also prior to tuning and portmatching.
very happy with it. if you're not going to tune and portmatch i wouldn't bother with it.
it was a good choice for me though as i needed a retune anyways, and i was removing the IM to put in a hondata IMG as well. so i got a lot done all at once

Buying a Spoon or J's is essentially the same. You're buying their TB for $500 plus and its an upgrade from stock. That includes sensors, etc. and everything is brand new.
As for Portflow TBs, I agree that's a great link and source for upgraded TBs however these are used rebuilt/re-manufactured items. They just happen to be rebuilt and cut for performance purposes. Obviously like buying rebuilt axles you pay less than brand new OEM.
Spoon and J's TBs are cut from brand new cores. They don't take your originals to make more unlike Tom at Portflow. So therefore, you cannot really compare apples to apples. Tom at Portflow is a machinist and offers a service for upgraded TBs for exchange of stock. I'm sure his $195 TB price requires you to exchange your OEM for core.
I guess people don't realize what the stock TB is worth to understand the pricing for aftermarket.

JDM Spoon or J's is not crap by any stretch. As for pricing, yes it does seem costly however if you buy a new TB from Honda it costs $581.08 MSRP. That includes sensors, etc. and everything is brand new.
