Default need help with exhaust!

whats good everyone i just picked up my first s2k and i already need motr from it.. SO im looking at doing just the bolt ons for now.. i am thinking of a t1r header t1r 70rt exhaust and the t1r crank and drive pullys..

now my question IS is it going to be worth the money ?? its the hp to $$ worth it ..

my end goal is a allenbuilt ported head cams and a kraftwerks s/c kit, so i want to buy the right exhaust now so i dont have to change later on down the road...

everyones 2 cents is welcome as i am a total noob with this car...

thanks for ur time..

Congrats on your purchase

First and foremost, dyno your car before anything.

Honestly modding this car is an expensive hobby. If you want basic bolt-ons you'd want to do some research thats going to correlate to your end goal. You want to do it right the first time.

I would suggest getting the Private label header. You mentioned you might want to go S/C in the future so for exhaust I would suggest going with the T1R 70R Sparrow with a test pipe (best bang for the buck). Its loud but not too loud, not that much drone. Might also want to get an intake, either CAI or the FIPK which is what I recommend. Instead of the crank and pullys you might want to invest that money into engine management because after the mods you're most likely going to run very Lean. I would recommend that you go with the Flashpro for now.

Good luck and have fun modding the car

what are your goals? the highest hp you can at the expense of comfort? Street driving? track?

There's so many different ways you can go that I don't even know where to point you to..

Stray away from the 70RT exhaust. I'm picking up another Ti headerback knowing that it will blow my ear drums out, but it's going to be a track exhaust only.

The best streetable exhaust so far is the T1R 70EM. Makes great power without being ridiculously loud.

The private label header can either be found in the sponsor group buy section, or on ebay (seriously).

With all the cash you'd spend on bolt ons, seriously just save for a KW Hi-boost kit. That exhaust + header you mentioned will probably cover almost half the cost of the SC kit, and you might gain 15ish whp, not to mention header/tp/exhaust/intake on a DBW s2k will leave you running dangerously lean without engine management, which flash pro will run you 600 + tuning costs.

Just save all that dough for a KW kit imo.

pipi_outlet is the seller. You can get the header for somewhere around $380 if you use the "make offer" function.

It's the same header as the one sold on the forum.

Cheapest "bolt on" bang for the buck is emanage ultimate and good tune.

You may want some exhaust modifications first before the tune, but for say $1000 you can get the emanage, a harness and a tune and get more power and torque than a $1000 exhaust will get you.

Don't even think about pulleys. I don't know if anyone makes them, but its more money and time than its worth.

If you are staying short of forced induction, IMHO the best you can do is the test pipe, piggyback and tune, then gears. Those will give you the most fun for the least invested. Header and exhaust can give you some power but usually for lots of cash (unless you buy used) and at the expense of your hearing.

I just went for the supercharger. Now I will add a couple exhaust thingys for the heck of it to tweak what I have and shed a few pounds, but seriously, look at a $1200 exhaust that half the time nets you 5hp. Thats $240 for each HP.

But if I just wanted an exhaust, since I don't care about the cost and want weight reduction, power and above all quiet, I would shell out the aforementioned $1200 on an ASM 60mm.

thank u everyone for ur info ...

i have spent the better part of the day calling places and picking brains..
and what i have come up with that getting this car to do what i want it to will be more of a head ache then its worth..so i have desided on just making it look good with some carbon and wheels... im a tuner so tuning the car isnt a issue but the lack of after market parts is kind of a let down ...even after talking to my builder porting the head and custom cams arent worth it .. turbo kits are good and make the power i want and the KW s/c is great for a street car i dont want to keep worring about blowing the rear end out the back if i launch the car to hard...

so im going to keep my car stock for the most part and just build another k swapped car for the track ...
