Default windmills on the horizon

I was at the top of my driveway which is a bit up the hill from my house talking to my neighbor and happened to glance at the horizon.

And what to my wandering eyes did appear, but a pair of windmills.
I was impressed by their size becuase I could easily distinguish the blades rotating away and they are about 18 miles away.
Digging around online, I found a shot of them being assembled last fall.

tower 230 feet, each blade is 135 feet long.

These are in Princeton right near Mt Wachusett.

Who owns them? Private or town?

Hope you are far enough away that the low frequency noise doesn't bother you.

I know they are controversial, but I'm a big fan of wind energy. Have an investment in an international wind energy fund.

The town of Princeton has a local public utility which owns them.

I drove by a group of at least 20 windmills near Letchworth Park in NY last week.

I even like the way they look. But some peeps near them definitely don't.

They kill a lot of birds, unfortunately.

Dams are bad for the salmon, wind turbines are bad for the birds and bats. But they both have benefits in moderation.

To paraphrase Dylan, when it comes to energy at least part of the answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind.
