Default Tax Day, Y'all!

I did, but my accountant got pneumonia last week and is not well at all. He did get mine done and efiled on Monday. Others will have to get extensions. Poor guy. He is a very good accountant and very meticulous, so worth the expense to have him do the taxes. So...how did you do? I assume those who owed put if off to the last minute, and those who got refunds filed fairly early? Anyone not filing at all??!! Don't give your real name if so.

We filed early had. Small returns from Federal and State which were then given to the town to pay excise tax (a tax on vehicles).

Here in MA, our tax day has been extended in several counties due to the flooding. If you haven't filed, the extension gives folks until May 11th.

Today marks the end of my 37th tax season. I never counted, but I'm sure the number of returns completed are up in the 5 digits.
Dinner out tonight with the +1. This is the day that I miss my old firm, the celebrations we had after it was over. Having no partners or employees has it's good points, but that's one of the negatives.
Happy Tax Day, Vintage. (and Rob).

Our accountant came by yesterday afternoon and went over ours. We did pretty well this year with our estimated payments and only overpayed slightly so we'll just carry that over to next year. We elected to get a refund on the state overpayment of just over $1k but we'll just put that in savings.

I got about the same back as last year, meaning quite a bit. I know we have the ongoing debate about whether to let Uncle Sam have the use of the money, but I still like getting back those fat checks! Except this year, I went with direct deposit to my checking account.

Having to do estimated taxes makes it a bit trickier.

The worst part about estimated taxes is having no clue what I'm supposed to be getting from my dad's trust. The money all went back into his business partnership so I didn't see a penny of it although I had to pay taxes on it.

I got my federal and MA refunds weeks ago. Who knows when CA will get around to paying. I need to quit procrastinating, and change my withholding to eliminate my over payments. I hate finding out that I paid enough to get a refund.
