What would your next sports car be?
Most of us are thrilled with our S2000s and we want to keep it forever, especially now that it isn't being made any longer. But you never know, things happen and you might even need to replace your car.
If something should happen to your S2000 what sports car would you buy to replace it?

The only "sports cars" available at that price point are the Miata (OK, MX5) at a lot less money, and the Z370.
So if I had to replace the S2000 it would be either an MX5 or a Mini Cooper S.

I will, very regretfully, be getting rid of my S for a 370Z with the racing package and AT. I haven't settled on a color yet, but I'm leaning toward black or Chicane Yellow.
Right now the main candidates for the new daily driver are a BMW 3 series and a 4 door Civic Si. Luckily, I've got a year to make up my mind.

I love driving the 335D, and talk about exclusivity. I've been driving it for 4 months now and have yet to see another one. The car is wonderfrul to drive, and gets great mileage. It is a heavier car than the S, by about 1000 pounds. I have driven it to LA (about 1000 mile RT) and the SF Bay Area (about 2200 miles RT) and it is magnificent on the road.
On my last trip to LA, I averaged 34 mpg at 85 mph. When driving it, I really have to pay attention to my speed if I am not using cruise control. It doesn't feel much different at 85 or 90 than it does at 65. It actually feels better at 85 or 90 mph, it feels more planted. At 65 - 70 mph, I have seen 42 mpg - in a car that will do 0 - 60 in 6.0 seconds. And, it was chosen by Kelley Blue Book as one of the top 10 Greenest Cars in America for 2010.
However, given BMW's reliability record, it is not a car I would keep for 10 years - or even own/lease without an great warranty.
Overall, the biggest problem I have had with it so far is that I only get 15,000 miles per year according to my lease, and I want to drive it all the time, which would blow the lease out of the water in pretty short order. I have all ready put over 5000 miles on the car and I leased it a little over 3 months ago.
I know you can easily do the math, but for those that can't 15,000 miles per year is equal to 1250 miles/month. In 3 months of ownership, I should have put on 3 x 1250 miles = 3750 miles, but have put on 5,000 miles. I can buy extra mileage, but it is $160/1000 miles
