Default bed lining my trunk

So in an attempt to lower the noise that my header back Berk exhaust makes, and to channel the sound from my "future" subwoofer makes I have decided to spray my trunk with bed liner. I know I could just as easily use Dynomat or some other sound deadening material; however, I'm not really interested in adding alll that weight. I'lll post more pics tomorrow and let you know if my ears are able to tell a difference.

Here's the trunk stripped of all interior trim:

The trunk primed and ready for liner!:

sound insulation material in the transmission tunnel will help too. I probably noticed the most difference there. I used a neoprene foam sound material in my trunk, very light. Lighter than a can of spray liner.

It's a shame to have to do all this work to the car, just because of a drony exhaust.

have you considered doing the floor of the cabin?

Here's a couple of threads with people who've used QuietCar in the cabin/trunk/etc, I'm going to do my car in spring:

Look into header wrapping the ENTIRE exhaust system you have. It made a huge difference with mine. All the exhaust 'sound' comes out in the back and not all over the place, if that makes sense. Experiment with it, you'll see what I mean.

For the exhaust add a pre muffler, pretty simple. For me since I have custom cage work and a black car I am just going to use monstaliner - its the same poly urethane type material you just coat it on thicker and it can be used in lieu of carpet and is much less abrasive then some other materials and is dull looking.

I ended up using a product by Blue Magic called Pure Rubber Coating. I sprayed 3 cans and reassembled. The results are AMAZING! I am astonished it worked so well. All of the droning was pretty much eliminated, and the exhaust sounds even cooler because instead of hearing it "through" the car I hear it behind me... the sound is "snappier" I guess. I can't recommend this enough for people with a louder exhaust.
