Default What clutch are you running and how has it worked for you

I've done a ton of searching and almost all the clutch threads are from 01 and 03. I looked through the FAQ and stickies and couldn't find one. So what is everyone running for a clutch and flywheel setup. I'm going to replace mine before dropping my jdm f20c into my 71 datsun 510 and I dont want to drop big money on a clutch and end up wanting something else because i'm not happy.

So post up your motor specs (hp or just general N/A or Turbo)
Clutch setup
Flywheel setup

How it has worked for you (what you like about it)
Try to include whether you can slip it easily or not and when if ever it has let loose under power.

I thought this would be a good addition to sticky.

Fairly stock & N/A AP1
Fidanza ultra lightweight flywheel, Exedy HCD916 disc, stock pressure plate, t/o bearing, etc.
The lighter flywheel is a LOT livelier than the ultra heavy stock flywheel, makes rev matching, and rpm-related fun much more enjoyable & quicker responding.
I haven't tried the lightweight fidanza flywheel with the honda oem disc but i had the two side by side brand new & the single spring x4 setup on the honda disc seemed very weak with a lot of "give" to the springs. The Exedy disc has dual springs x4... each very stiff large spring has a smaller, thick, spring coiled inside of it. So 8 springs in total.
This setup grabs strong when you want it to, but is extremely easy to daily drive in traffic or whatever.
For every S2000 I'll ever own, this is the setup I'll be going with.
Also, fwiw, if/when it comes time for a clutch again, the fidanza flywheel has a removable friction shim/disc that bolts onto it which is only ~ $65 to replace instead of requiring the purchase of a new flywheel. Makes it quick, cheap, easy.

My $0.02 ...

Stock motor '06 AP2 with AP1 FW, AP1 slave cylinder and street clutch kit put together by Aki at BlackTrax. The clutch kit uses OEM pressure plate and a disk with a combo of organic and kevlar friction surfaces. It's easy to drive and grabs and holds when I bang shifts at redline. The AP1 parts and the BlacTrax kit have made my S2K a dream to shift.
I spent a painful year with an SoS sport clutch. After 12K miles of feathering the clutch in stop and go commute traffic, I burned out the disk. The SoS was easy to disengage and shift as advertised, but slow starts in traffic and backing up were typically a bucking bronco experience.

Sounds like the motor is stock? If so, nothing beats the reliability and drive-ability of the stock unit.

F1 spec stage 1 here. I like it for the grippy engagement and the pedal effort was a lot easier for stop and go city driving. So far I've put 600 miles and one track day on them.

Competition clutch stage 4
Turbo, numbers in my signature
It has been great for over 2 years and 25-30k miles. I have it paid with their lightweight flywheel.
It takes about a day to get used to. Some people can't drive it at all.

I may be due for a clutch soon on my AP2. I'm running an AEM SRI, headers, high-flow cat, Invidia Q300, and an Apexi VAFC with Mase tune, putting down about 200 hp (according to dyno sheet).

I'm looking for something that grabs more than the stock clutch, but offers the same ease of use and drivability. Any suggestions? I don't plan to have more power than what I already have.

ACT clutch with 11lb flywheel. I am using the stock oem disc and not the ACT disc. Some have complaned of chatter and buss with the ACT disc. Using the oem disc eliminates all that. Car drives just like stock and holds my power level fine. 567whp and 370+ torque.
