Default wagner vs ebc yellowstuff

Ok so im in need of brakes on my ap2

Went to a parts store to see what they had, their higher end stuff was wagner pads, they have a free lifetime warrenty on wear but is it worth it? I dont wanna lose a ton of braking power just for a warrenty.

The ebc yellowstuff ive seen great reviews on, however how are they for daily driving? I do some spirited driving but generally its just stop and go traffic. Dont wanna have to be replacing pads every year..

Is there any other pads im missing? thats better than oem ap1 pads?

Actually the EBC Green Stuff pads are great, you might not believe this but in 2006 I bought drilled and slotted cryo'd rotors and the EBC Green Stuff pads(cryo'd as well), To this day I figure I have 60,000 miles on these pads and rotors, which have been to the dragon and back to Florida 4 times and been driven hard, they still look good minus a few hairline stress cracks on the rotors, but the pads still have plenty of life left in them.

hope that helps you.

they're doing great.
no noise. no dust.

pad life is measured in mileage (not in time) and depends mostly on the driving conditions.

If you are referring to the Wagner ThermoQuiet's I found that they are OEM quality or better. I have run them for years and have always been happy. They are not a track pad and will melt off just like OEM at the track.

As for the EBC's they are pretty aggressive pads for everyday use. I decided to try them and on the street they are good, not too noisy or dusty. At the track they still gave up though no as quick as the OEM pad which was good. I put in about 130miles on the car on track and they actually held up very well but the poor rotors are shot, they really gouged the OEM rotor in the front. The other complaint is the fitment, the backing plates had edges in them where they had been stamped out. To get the pad to fit into the caliper I have to usa a file take off this edge all the front pads. The rears were fit better but I still cleaned them up.

I have the yellows and they are good on track, but they DO make a LOT of dust!!! So if you don't track your car but still drive a bit spirited, I would go with Redstuff, they make less dust, and are less expensive.

this is how they looked after few days of driving and one canyon run:

same expirience for a friend with Z4M.

This tells me you never tracked your car with yellows, and neither did your friend. That's perfectly ok. But if you decide to track your cars and do some serious breaking, you will see what I am talking about. Read EBC website, and you will see what they say, if you dont believe my experience.

I get masses of dust from the Bluestuff NDX even from road use, but it does clean off easily unlike some, that seem to eat into the wheels.

your assumption about what i do and don't is wrong.

if you read carefully i never dismissed your expirience - unlike to yourself.
it's always beter to ask than to assume.

as to your dust case - are your EBC from new production batches?
because they seems to change their formula about 2 years ago.
previosuly they were quite awfull with a lot of problems reported on the internet.
