Aftermarket compliance bushing vs used front lower arm
Hi everyone. So about 2 years ago my car began to make a single 'clunk noise' when I went over a driveway. And this only happened when going over turning to the right (going over to the left seemed okay)...
Recently this behavior had gotten worse. In fact the single clunk noise is now happening when I turn the wheel right or left at low speeds and over dips and road imperfections (doesn't seem to clunk at higher highway/track speeds)... I went under the car and checked all of the nuts/bolts to make sure everything is tight (sway bar, end links, suspension stuff etc) and didn't find anything loose... I did some research online and read about some possible issues like a loose sway bar, axle nut, worn bushings (suspension stuff) etc etc...
And then finally I went to a very reputable shop here in Southern California (shop that has worked on my car many times including aligments and coilover install) and they diagnosed the issue as a worn left compliance bushing...
So my options are:
1.) Order the Powerflex Compliance Bushing $189 (comes in a pair) and have the said shop install it + alignment afterward of course
or
2.) Buy a used front lower arm with OEM rubber bushing (that hopefully is in good shape) + alignment
or
3.) Buy 1 lower arm from Honda which I think comes with the bushing (since they don't sell just the bushings)?
Will there be an issue with # 1 since the compliance bushings would be different from the lower and upper arm bushings (Rubber vs Poly-Urethane).
Should I go with the # 2 option (cheapest option of the 3) and hope it last and run the risk of having the same issue some time in the future?
Or should I go with # 3 (not necessarily sure what the pros are for this option but figured i'd throw it in).
Thanks for looking....
