Default stiffer springs vs stiffer sway bars

Anyone out there thats done both, whats the difference in the effect it had on your handling? I've been thinking of getting stiffer springs for my coilovers, but was wondering if essentially the same effect could be had without stiffening up the ride quality too much, or do I have a complete misunderstanding of how suspensions work?

I'm kinda on the softer spring stiffer bars setup.
I'm running 700f 650r with Eibach bars on the stiffer o the two settings and I like it, can't say whether its faster or slower though.

For track, I prefer stiffer springs with less bar. I like keeping my suspension independent. It's personal preference. You'll get different answers from different people. Also depends on what you're trying to do with the car and what you want out of it. Is this street or track?

with stiffer sways i consistently was getting bumpier ride similar to stiffening springs.
so if good ride is what you want it looks to me like there are no short cuts to that....

I prefer softer springs and stock bars. Currently we are running 700/600 lb springs on stock bars and feel the car is pretty well balanced with a Voltex Type 2 rear wing and the right alignment.

The first question I might ask you is - why do you want it to be stiffer? Your answer to that might very well dictate what you need to do.

I have pss9's on the way, and the stock spring rates are a little softer than my last few setups. I had originally planned on bumping up the spring rates just a little, probably 550f/450r (purely street setup), but now I'm thinking maybe sway bars would be a more logical first step.

thats what I did, running the bilsteins with both front/rear eibach sways, stiffens it up nicely on the turns but still maintains a not so harsh ride during hard bumps that you encounter in the canyons/street driving.
