How much does lower is it? I have a friend that is 6'1" and is looking for this. his knees hit the steering wheel

It lowers the seat about an inch. I've had a couple people over 6' drive with it, and they all loved the position.

It will fit the seat and the car. Most people just zip-tie the sensor to the rail.
