why choose oil pressure and water temperature over the oil temp and oil pressure set up (since there is water temp on the car already)?
i thought albert suggested oil pressure and oil temp because when your on the track you will be able to monitor the oil temperature and when it gets too hot you can give the car a rest. Whats the advantage of having a more accurate water temp?

I know with the oil pressure .. it will drop when oil is too viscous which is already a sign of "too hot"

Mannn, with 3 n's....
Here is my take on it....as the oil heats up it thins out, if it gets too hot it will break down and you should see this as a drop in oil pressure.
Preventing the oil from overheating is the coolants job thus it is important to know how hot that is.
Your best bet is to go with Speedstar's recommendations....

wasn't speedstar's recommendation Oil temp and Oil pressure??
so that's a redundant setup in the way you put in then... cuz when the oil is too hot... the pressure will drop anyway...
