hi guys , we use oil temp is because when we go onto the track, we need to know precisely when to come back to the pit before ruining the engine oil, remember the structure of the oil will change after reaching a certain temperature and the oil temp help us prevent that happening.

thanks William... what specific temperature of the oil are we talking about?
More specifically.. would the oil pressure drop before or after the oil structure changes (breaks down?)?

I am assuming the "breakdown" temperature varies with different type of oil... be it 10w30 or 5w40
