Default [UPDATE] 2018 Muskoka Cruise: CANCELLED AGAIN FOR SEP 1 - NO CRUISE THIS LONG WKD. :(

Alright everyone, the SIXTH (!) annual Muskoka cruise has been set! If you've been before, welcome back. If this is your first Muskoka cruise, it involves 3-4 hours of (spirited) driving, including pit stops. Last year, we did pit stops at Muskoka Brewery (just to grab things you can't find at the LCBO) and Sweet Jesus Ice Cream, and ended up with dinner and drinks at Sawdust City Brewery.

Here are the videos from 2015 and 2016, and you can check out last year's thread for more pics:

GTA PRE-MEET UP (LEAVE BY 945 AM): 3200 Rutherford Rd, Concord, ON (the parking lot behind the CT gas station)
MEET UP LOCATION: East Side Mario's in Orillia (315 Memorial Ave - 11 AM onwards) (Gas up at the Shell and grab a bite at the McDonald's)

DEPARTURE TIME: 1200 PM SHARP!

DINNER: The Boston Pizza or the pub next door along the lake in Gravenhurst
CRUISE ROUTE: In theory, if you open this up in Google My Maps, it should allow for navigation, but in practice at least get the GPS overlay (though you need to refresh your position)
There'll be pit stops at Muskoka Brewery (for pickup, not drinking) and Sweet Jesus Icecream in Port Carling. Google maps tells me it's a 3-hour cruise WITHOUT pit stops, so we should be finished by 430-ish.

GENERAL POINTERS:
1. Bring a radio if you have one (Channel 4, Sub-channel 0)

-This is, quite possibly, the most important thing to bring (especially for the Niagara Cruise). It'll prevent you from getting lost and it makes the ride more fun with the ongoing chatter.

2. Keep your headlights on
-It makes a big difference to be able to see the tail lights in front of you and the headlights in your mirrors.

3. 2-Car Rule
-Whenever you make a turn or are getting on/off the highway, make sure you can see 2 cars behind you before turning.
-if you really must turn because you're holding up traffic, then stop right after the turn so the car behind you can see you (there may have been a few cars between you guys).

4. Drive within the yellow and white lines
-We cannot emphasize this enough (especially for the Muskoka cruise) - safety is paramount and we're on public roads.
-If you cannot stay between the lines, then you're driving beyond your limit (or you're just being an ass).

Yikes! I'm stuck at work on the 25th and 26th. I can definitely do the rain date if it comes to that, though.

Hey guys, please post up if you think you can make it! If it's just the 4 of us (including the COs), we may need to reschedule things.

Posted a new meetup point by hwy 400 instead - I think this will allow more of us to drive up together.

Also, please note the slightly earlier start time - this is so we can avoid more of the hotter times of the day and so ppl can get home earlier.
