2017 Niagara Cruise - PART 2 (POSTPONE to Sun Oct 22)
EDIT: OCT 2, 2017
Back by popular demand, we're having a SECOND Niagara Cruise this year!!! We're continuing the same thread for our first cruise.
If this your first cruise, we'd like you to come out! It's a fun, social and relaxing cruise through the Niagara region that ends up being more of a S2000 parade (especially when we get 20 to 30 of us). If you feel the need to demonstrate your track skillz, this is not that type of cruise, bro. There'll be 4-5 hours of driving, including pit stops for photos, snacks, and as usual, Thorold Tunnel, that ends at Mather Park on the Niagara Parkway for some great scenery. Pictures from last year's cruise can be found by searching the forum for "Niagara 2016" (it won't allow me to properly link it for some reason). At the end of the cruise, some take off, but a bunch of us usually stay around to grab a bite. Post up if you can make it.
GTA PRE-MEET: Sherway Gardens at 0930, leave by 1000 (click for exact location)
MEET UP LOCATION: Casablanca rest stop (click for exact location)
MEET UP TIME: 11am (socialize and gas)
DEPARTURE TIME: NOON SHARP
DINNER: TBD
CRUISE ROUTE: TBD
email this link to yourself, open it on your phone with Google Maps - you should be able to get turn-by-turn directions (this has been inconsistent in the past)!
-if you get lost, call to find out where to rejoin the group [with a group this large, we can't stop the cruise to chase you down]
GENERAL POINTERS:
1. Bring a radio if you have one (Channel 4)
-This is, quite possibly, the most important thing to bring. It'll prevent you from getting lost and it makes the ride more fun with the ongoing chatter.
2. Keep your headlights on
-It makes a big difference to be able to see the tail lights in front of you and the headlights in your mirrors.
3. 2-Car Rule
-Whenever you make a turn or are getting on/off the highway, make sure you can see 2 cars behind you before turning.
-if you really must turn because you're holding up traffic, then stop right after the turn so the car behind you can see you (there may have been a few cars between you guys).
4. Stay within the yellow and white lines
-Sorry if I'm being Captain Obvious here, but we cannot emphasize this enough - safety is paramount and we're on public roads. We've never been pulled over by the police and we'd like to keep it that way.
