After Valve Adjustment
I have so many problems after getting my valves adjusted.
First i wasn't sure if it was due to the oil change or adjustment.
I took it to honda and had my oil changed to whatever honda uses for the S.
still the engine shake and the rattling noise at 3600rpm is there.
Could an improperly adjusted valve cause any problems until speedstar gets the time to take a look at my engine again?
could valves cause any rattling noise?

Typically, valves that are out of adjustment will be the primary cause for upper engine rattling. On our car, you must also give due consideration to the cam chain tensioner as this has been the source of many such ailments.
Just to eliminate the oil change, what kind and grade of oil did they use? Some dealers are really stupid in that they put in the 5W20 that all other Hondas take. This is not recommended for the S2000. However, if this were the cause, you wouldn't hear any rattling till the engine got really hot and the oil thinned out.

Hi xv,
thx for the quick reply.
they used 10w30 and pcx 004 filter.
the rattling starts soon as the engine gets warmed up.
im not sure if it rattles before the engine gets warmed.
but i will check it out in the morning.
I'm not sure what the previous owner was using.
i switched over to castrol full synthetic the same time i got my valves adjusted.
just to make sure it wasn't being caused by the oil, i had honda replace it today and the problem continues.

If this began after they did the valve adjustment, then it would be reasonable to say they did it incorrectly. Still check the tensioner, though. Having said this, it's better to have noticeably audible valve noise (as in a bad adjustment) than to have totally silent valves, where they could be getting really close to the piston. I would suggest that you refrain from driving it in the high rpm range till you get this resolved. If you have too wide a valve clearance, high rpm may induce excessive "hammering" of the rocker onto the valve stem. This could fracture something.

it rattles only at 3600 - 3700 and then at 5400 - 5700.
this is on neutral also, so i know for a fact its coming from the engine.
It was just fine before the valve adjustment, i noticed it on the way home.
it could be something new but im not sure at all.
