Anyone Here Heard Of A Band Named "sloan"?
 

I went to the Jet concert last night (GREAT show) and the opening band is based out of Toronto. They're named Sloan and if you haven't seen them, and you like live music, I suggest going to see them. They were friggin great...nearly as good as Jet.

Geez they have been around since 1998 or so and you haven't heard of them :confused:

They are good, some of my high school friends were groupies.

I saw Sloan in 93 in Winnipeg they are really good!

Ya Sloan rocks.. they never really hit it big, but they have a great following here

yup... there a lot of bands that are big in Canada and not in the US. For example, I saw the Bare Naked Ladies when I was in college at a small venue in Austin. In Canada, there were a stadium band but in the US, they were booking nothing larger than a club. Tragically Hip is another... I doubt more than a handful of people here listen to them or even heard of them... but they were a big band in Canada.
