I have no idea how this could happen. Yes there was vibration for a few months, but nothing crazy. It started getting progressively worse within a 30 minute drive.

The car is driveable, but very loud and rattly. I did not take the car above 3000 rpm in this condition. I limped her to the mechanic on back roads. The car handled fine, but was extra jittery taking off in 1st gear.

I was informed I can have the Shaft Rebuilt. Does anyone know anyone who does this?
Is this your daily? I'd imagine a rebuilt one will set you back pretty good.

Hey guys thanks. Yeah I am being informed again not get them rebuilt. And that It cannot be done with the S2000 shafts. So im confused a bit.

And d1000rr - I inquired about that shaft. It is from AP2. I was informed the Ap2 wont work with ap1.

Can anyone else shed some light.

Also I am not in a high rust environment. My car actually very little rust, if any at all.

When they fail the grease leaks out of the joints and you get a line of grease spraying under the vehicle, it leaves a very evident line of grease on the underbody. Without leakage I'd be skeptical of it failing.

Isn't there a big difference between ap1 and ap2 fitment because of the flanges? Make sure you get the right one. I think its not hard to find one because its usually a left over from a transmission or diff job.

Hey guys. I too am a bit skeptical. All I got was a text from the mechanic saying.... " Drive shaft broken, new one and come back". Not much more in the ways of explanation or communication. Do you think I should get a second opinion? I took to this shop because it was previously recommend here on s2ki, and its very close to my home. The car is drive-able but very very noisy, so im scared of it breaking all together, and getting stuck somewhere.

I it took to

Grand Performance Auto (GPA 2000)

I have an ap1 shaft on the floor. Took it out last night if you need one, I don't plan on keeping for a spare.
