Buying a Car
So yea im planning on buying a car from the state and was wondering if anyone knew what i needed to do/get in order to be able to buy a car from the states and register it as a Canadian car?? or have Canadian license plates

basically it breaks down to these simple steps:
1) get the seller to have a recall clearance letter ready. You ca'nt get this since it requires someone with a US address to do it
2) 72 hours before you drive up, have the seller fax a copy of the ownership to the border
3) get a temp permit so you can drive back home
4) when you cross the border, you first go to the US side to get the ownership cleared, then you go to the Canadian side to do the paperwork and pay the taxes
5) wait for the RIV to fax you the form for federal inspection, and then go to canadian tire to do the inspection
6) as soon as you pass inspection, you can go to the MTO to get plates
all done.
