Clarkson orgasms over Ford GT
dude, it's a ford......'nuff said :p :D
A Ford that only an Enzo can beat. ;)
....in a race to the shop :D
True that.
How much do they want for that thing? $140K? For a Ford? Riiiight..
For a Ford that will smoke any car on the road except stuff like an Enzo, Carrera GT, Koenigsegg, etc. Note that the average price tags on those cars is about $800k CDN.
Ford is Quality no 1. :p
engine is from a truck? so that's why it sounded like a truck!!!
$140 US ... I think it's price and performance is to compete with the 360 Modena, not the Enzo.
i'd rather drive an S2000......oh, wait a minute.....I DO.......

Yeah, that's typical FORD ... their dealers don't know anything about their products except how to mark up the prices. When I was asking about the Ford Lightning a couple years back the dealers looked at me with a lost look on their faces.
I heard the Enzo uses special oil from Shell, and it supposedly costs over $1000 US just for an oil change because of it. |
You guys have no idea how long we at Ford have been promised this car finnally they are back in the performance race in a big way!

I would step over my own mother for a Ford GT. That car is gorgeous. I've seen it in the flesh the past two years in Detroit. *drool*
The engine is readily accessible, so working on it wouldn't be too difficult. I guess it just comes down to parts and parts availability. However if it's the engine from a F350 or the Lightning (probably the Lightning) then engine pieces shouldn't be too difficult to get ones hands on. I'm the furthest thing from a fan of Ford but asthetically they're giving me a woody. I like the new Thunderbird, the Mustang Concept is staggering and this GT(40) belongs on the track... with me driving it. :p Of course if the new mustang looks CHEAP and nothing like the concept, I'll be gravely disappointed and probably shun Ford for years to come. Course, I'll still happily accept a GT any day of the week. |
HotKnives: Yeah well my Honda dealership was trying to tell me the 04' S2K was going to have 280HP. I told him the numbers just don't add up. That would be better than 120HP/L, which would probably mean higher compression which would mean it couldn't sell in the US with their gas, etc..etc...
It's just dealerships. They don't have a clue. Most public consumer places don't. You have to go specialty to find salespeople that know their industry. |
Taylor: that's true, the dealership I went into serves the older clientele (I'm in a geriatric neighbourhood) ... the Toyota dealership in my neighbourhood was trying to convince me the Solara is the Supra reborn ... HAHAHAHA
