Default Clutch Delay Valve question

Hi Guys,

I own an 05 S2000. When I first got the car, I didn't know it had a CDV (clutch delay valve) so whenever I shifted at high rpm, I could hear the clutch ride a little bit and I thought I was doing something wrong lol. Then after doing some research, I found out it was due to the CDV. NOW, I've noticed that when I shift, the car doesn't lag anymore, it's like the CDV isn't there. The back end chirps now too. Any idea's as to how the CDV magically disappeared lol? It's good not to have, but I'm just wondering if something is wrong now.

Thanks!

The ap2 req you to shift slower and smoother, where the ap1 will allow you to "bang gears" so to speak. It's just the driving style difference between the two cars.

Smooth driving > hard driving

CDV doesn't have as much of an effect as many believe. The main problem with the AP2's is the 22 lb flywheel, vs. the 13 lbs flywheel found in the AP1. Billman made a post about it with a very thorough explanation. Can't seem to find it right now, doh.

Those are two of the best mods you can do with the ap2. Ap1 flywheel and getting rid of the cdv.

Don't be slamming gears too hard Arhun, you'll be searching for a new diff soon, lol.

Haha never, I never "bang" gears, just like to drive spiritedly sometimes. I don't do it everyday though.

I think some of you are misunderstanding what I'm saying, I know it has a CDV due to the larger flywheel, but it's that the cdv hasn't been kicking in, lately. It's like it disappeared or is broken or something else is broken. I'm going to try shifting really slow, see if the cdv makes it lag.

Anyone who has been in my car will wonder where my cdv went but i can happily say i still have it. My thoughts are just shift differently, it saves your diff.

Not I. I could feel the cdv, coming from a Ap1, it was annoying to drive spirited.

I'm with Mikey... Shift differently. I've seen this boy shift, and he is lightning quick, even when he had the OEM 22 lb flywheel.
