Crew needed for Saturday at Mosport
Hey guys, I need a couple of people to help me out on Saturday at Mosport. I'll be running the Warbonnet 3hr enduro with davepk from California flying in to co-drive. During the race we'll have to make at least 2 pit stops to refuel (actual mileage TBD). Since it will just be the two of us and we'll both be fully suited up it's going to be very difficult for us to run around and do stuff during the race.
The rules require that anyone over the pit wall must have a complete driver fire suit and that there must be someone manning a fire extinguisher. That means one driver with the fire bottle and the other dumping fuel into the tank with "gerry" cans (no fuel rig). That leaves nobody to help should we need something behind the wall. If you have full gear that would be fantastic (I'm not counting on it) but even if you don't your assistance would be invaluable in getting these pit stops done. If you would like to come and participate and be part of the crew for this exciting race weekend on the 15th and 16th please let me know. It's going to be a hell of a good time and very exciting and I hope somebody is willing and able to come out and lend a hand. Thanks |
Help a brotha out!
I'd be there if I could. I was there on Monday while he was testing and it was a great way to spend a day |
Eric, I would help but it's gonna be a long day of racing for me as it is.
If i feel alright, then i can stick around and man the fire extinguisher.. |
That would be awesome man.
|
i'd love to help, but i'll be working next weekend. :(
|
I would be willing to come out and help. No suit unfortunately. I'd just be an extra body with a couple of hands. But I'd be grateful for an opportunity to see life from the pits.
Let me know if you could use my help. |

Let me know if you could use my help. We are going to meet at the track Saturday morning at a rather early 7AM (I know, it's going to suck) at the registration building which is on the road just past the kart track (you'll see all the cars parked at the side). You'll need to meet us there to sign the waiver and get a wristband which will get you into the pit lane area. Our first practice session starts at 8:30 sharp (why wee need to be there early). We'll try to take care of most of what needs to be done on Friday so we aren't too under the gun first thing. The Saturday schedule will work something like this: 7:00: meet at registration building, get signed in 8:30: first 15 min practice session 8:15: tire change 9:00: second 15 min practice session 9:15: tire change 9:30: third 15 min practice session 9:45: tire change 10:15: 10 min touring car champ qualifying session 10:25: tire change 10:35: 10 min GT sprint qualifying 10:45: tire change LUNCH 1:00: 20 min Enduro qualifying 1:40: 20 min GT Sprint race 2:00: tire change 2:20: 20 min touring car race 2:40: tire change 3:00: 3 hour Enduro race It's going to be an action packed day!! Please, anyone else want to come out and be part of the team we really need you!! |
PM sent

Wow, this is a great opportunity to "witness" some real action.
Would you want help from people who have no tron suits and no experience? I mean people who can roll around a tire and pour some gas. |
Yes, certainly. Without a full driver suit you can't handle gasoline or work on the car during pit stops but you can certainly help a great deal in every other respect and there is plenty to do. I'd love to have you come out and be on the team. It will be a great experience. PM your info to me so I can put you on the crew list.
|
Don't you need a full-face helmet for enduro refueling too? I remember reading about it on the CASC forum, but maybe I remember wrong.
|
You need more than just that, you need a complete driver suit (3 layers of NOMEX head to toe). Unless you have such a monkey suit you won't be handling gasoline or working on the car while in the pit box. There is still plenty of other things to do however.
Any more takers? Please PM me your details. Only a few days to go!! |
I may be able to lend a hand with fueling, not guaranteed though! We'll see how the CTCC qual & race go on Saturday, also I may already be helping out another team. I'll be heading to the track Friday night but will try to catch up with you sometime Saturday.
What do you have for a fuel rig? Jerry can, dry break, etc etc? If they decide not to require the 5 minute minimum stop than jerry cans will be inadequate, slow and you're guaranteed to spill! Chris P aka Krispy |
PS, you wouldn't happen to have some hardware to secure the visor onto a Bell helmet? I've taken mine off and believe the pieces are lost.........dohhhh!
|
I have a bell helmet but I don't think I have extra hardware :(
There is no minimum pit stop length and yes I'm using gerry cans. Those using dry break systems get a 30 second penalty which is obviously inadequate. Not having a good chance of winning is not sufficient reason not to enter. I hope you can help, that would be fantastic. |

|
Not too bad at all. I finally just got the Ontario plates yesterday, so it is now officially registered in the province. Drove with the PA temp plates for approximately 3 weeks/1750km and wasn't pulled over once so I'm pretty happy :)
Next mission is finding some rubber so that I can get on the track/SOLO 2 before the end of the summer, also need a hardtop and winter tires. I don't suppose you have any R-comps on rims laying around? :) |
Hey, Met you guys at the track, but had to leave early. I was just wondering how you made out in the endurance race ?
|
We were doing great, 2nd place overall, until we lost ignition on the #1 cylinder and had to drop out 1 hour in :(
Many thanks to Danny and others for their invaluable assistance. |
