Default DRL / high beam help (malfunction)

hi all, i'm wondering if my high beam fuse is blown (is there such a thing?) the light bulb works fine during the day in the DRL mode, but when i switch to night driving (the DRL naturally will be off and only on as high beam), i don't have high beam function.

can anyone help please?

thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe that is a double filament bulb. Your DRL would use the low output filament (which is okay), when you put the highbeams on it would light the high output filament (which is likely burnt out). Try replacing with a new bulb to be certain.

Correction: It is an H1 which is single filament

So unfortunately I don't have a short answer for you :/

I'm pretty sure its a separate fuse. Have you checked?

typically, the DRL's run off the high beam but at lower power- like at 10% power. i installed a HAMSAR DRL unit when importing my USDM to Canada and that's how mine works- not factory installed mind you.

hope this give some insight.

None of those ones. It would be in the fuse box under the dash on the driver's side.

it sounds like it's operating normally to me..

the high beam is on as DRL during the day, the moment you switch your lights on (xenon), they go off unless you pull on the high beam switch.

The fuse is underneath the dash by your clutch pedal.

Do you have a DRL warning like on in the cluster?

no i do not have DRL warning at dash

i don't have high beam when i pull the high beam switch in night mode (lights on) or day mode (DRL), no light nor the high beam icon on my dash that you should get when u pull the high beam switch.

ok i'm going to look for fuse under dash, let me see if i can find the fuse diagram...
