Plus, don't drive up to Markham to eat if you are staying downtown.
For Japanese I'd say would be EmaTei which is on queen west, a good walking district anyways.

There are plenty of other guys here who can attest to authentic Cantonese food better than I can but Chinatown is convienently close to where you are staying as well. Again, no need to drive half an hour.
Lastly, I think you are staying on "Front" Street, not "First" street. as so not to confuse the nuvi.

Church and Charles St., great bars to hang out with the guys and get a massage. Okay okay just kidding about this one.
Don't drive your car around in the downtown core, just buy a subway daypass for $8 and take the subway and street car. For example to get to China town, walk to union station (just east of your hotel), find the LRT platform (it's in the basement) and take the 510 Spadina light rail. This will take you to Harbourfront and then up to China town.
The three main "pedestrian" streets in downtown are Yonge St, Queen St and Bloor St. If you draw a box on the map, basically anything south of Bloor St, west of Church St and east of Spdina is safe. Once you walk beyond those boundaries, you start hitting pockets of bum towns.
Don't bother leaving the city. Toronto has nothing interesting to see outside of the downtown area.

Checked your profile, your 27, lol.
There is a lot to do during the night in Toronto, not so much druing the day. There are a number of different clubs you could go to. If your coming down with friends, there is Dave and Buster which is at Hwy 7 and 400 which is a nice arcade/bar style place for older people. For eating there is a lot to try since we have a vast multicultural city. Theres a chinese area, greek area, italian area, indian area, etc.... Just try everything!!!!!!!
