I used to do the plate on the dashboard trick, but I did get pulled over for that years ago. To me it just isn't worth being pulled over.

I am always surprised that cops in my hometown are much too busy to deal with noise complaints, and they no longer respond to stolen vehicle calls, or the majority of accidents. If you call the main Police non-emergency number they will tell you that they are too busy to respond to these types of matters. But they always seem to find the time to pull me over for a missing plate ? Like what gives ?

I just tell them "oh, never mind...I'll just deal with the problem myself." That seems to wake them up.

I run with no front plate on my CR most of the time, and have not had a front plate on my CTR since I bought it in July 2017.
I think I'm pushing my luck.
I bought a Sly Brackets mount for the CTR this winter that will mount in the grill area for the horn beside the passenger side fog light. The OEM plate mount you have to screw into the bumper. That's not happening.
Anyway, I still haven't installed the plate and was very excited to hear this news but then disappointed to learn that it is not going to come through.
Hmmmm.

I keep the plate in my trunk and plan to use the excuse of "Oh damn, I was at a car show on the weekend and forgot to put it back on, ill do it now"

When I was a young punk kid with my first S2000 (10 years ago) I would get pulled over all the time for no front plate. Back then I had the balls to say to the police officer "I just hate how it looks!" ...3 out of 4 times I was just given a warning lol.

I keep mine in the trunk too, guess I'll need two extra screws there.

I might try to run without one, and just use the excuse that I heard Doug Ford eliminated the front plate requirement on the news....

I was pulled over for speeding this summer on my way to an autoslalom event.
I had no front plate on. The officer noticed and asked me about it. I told him I took it off because I was going to a track day and it improves cooling without the plate (true) and he just gave me a warning.
Plate still lives in my trunk.
