Hahaha, I seemed to have gotten over the bling quickly after trying out auto-x. Especially after being faster than some with more mods

those are hardly gonna make a difference at auto-x.

Even at the track Steve was locking up his RA-1's and smoking them with just race pads.

I can't afford the potential consequences of the track at this point.

Well if your traction limited, what's the point?

Except for initial clamping power, possible lighter weight, MAYBE cooling but largely dependant on pad material...

Tell me what other reasons you would require them? Edumacate me oh brake master, will they make an average driver any faster?

Pedal feel and better resistance to fade.

They're definitely not REQUIRED on the S. Really more of a bling thing.

Having said that, if I still had the S I'd be all over them

James - why do you think that bigger brakes would help for AutoX?

I don't think they would help for auto-x

All that being said, if I had 2 sets of 17's I might consider them
