Default Good Insurance company in the GTA

Hey guys just about to go on a search for a new insurance company. What one are you guys using? I'm with TD meloche on my truck but they wont insure the s2k being that it is modified. I was with echelon before but was getting raped.

Also debating waiting until june to put insurance on since I turn 25 in June. Did any of you guys get an immediate discount at 25? Does it make a difference if I put insurance on now or wait?

I was paying i think $365 a month for 2 months at 24. Then I turned 25 and it IMMEDIATELY dropped to 195ish a month or cheaper??? I am trying to find the spreadsheet I was using.

It made a world of difference for my insurance. Different ones might react differently.

had my 2002 BMW 325Ci Convertible with TD Meloche when I was 23...and was paying $310/month full coverage...
Then I turned 25 and my rates drop to $185/month full coverage... that's $125 discount!

Good luck on your search...

From my experiance it's reaaaaally hard to find an insurance company that will insure a modded car, unless you're willing to pay a shit load every month.

So far Desjardin has been pretty alright with my mods. But mine so far have been purely aesthetic and suspension modifications. Insurance went up about 28$ a month with the new wheels and suspension.

Could probably ask them to give you a quote but 365 for a 600whp car near the Toronto area in my opinion isnt too shabby...

The personal is okay with "aesthetic" mods. Wheels, exhaust, suspension (I made a case for all of those). They just don't like FI or really expensive stereos.

I was looking into the personal.. you have to be members of a professional group or organization thereby lowering rates for everyone..

Should get all the s2ki members together and get on the whole group insurance deal

Definitly wait until you are 25, HUGE difference. I dont know how much you drive your car but you may also want to find a company that offers packages/discounts for leisure vehicles. That should also decrease your monthly payment and you have to have something like less than 12,000 km a year? I know this option only became available when I turned 25.

Goodluck!

Hmm. I dont care much about insuring my mods. I just need an insurance company that doesn't do an inspection. TD requires the inspection so thats out of the question.
