rider, this will be my 4th winter with the hardtop....never been a problem before.

do the rear latches LOCK forward or aft??? i can't remember.

right now they are locked towards the back....to open, i would pull them towards the front of the car.

anyone around over the next couple of days to help me with this??? i can meet up somewhere.....

If you still need help, I'm free tommorow evening from 6:30 to about 10:30.
Where about's do you live?

The way I put my hardtop on is I first make sure the back portion of the Hardtop is on properly. The back latches are in the FORWARD position. Then I match up the front end. Once everything is in place, I push the latches BACK towards the rear window and then I proceed to lock up the front.

ok, so i AM locking the rears correctly. the LOCKED position is rearward...the OPEN position is forward.

i'm in richmond hill....but, i can meet you halfway somewhere if you like.....

ok, i think i see where the problem is.....it's hard to desribe, but here goes....

on the driver side female receptor for the H/T male latch, the receptor is seperated away from the body of the car by about 1/2 an inch.....

how the hell does this happen?

and, how does one fix this?????????

This is the metal piece they bolt to the car that the male pins lock into right?

If so I'm thinking that the bolts have loosed and are backing out.

I suspect you have to pull part of the rear interior panels out to get to those bolts to tighten them up again, but I'm not sure. I wish I had my manual with me so I could look.

If the brackets have come loose thanks for the heads up. I have to put my HT on this weekend because I have a school next weekend.
