That price is just for the oem top alone (part #1)... It doesn't include the other 40 parts to have a complete top (window, strikers, seals, nuts and bolts, etc...).

that was the top i was referring to. i was going to get it for 1600. then it got bumped to 2000 and now its at 2500. personally i wouldn't pay anymore than 2500 for a oem top

$2500 is actually a good price if it is complete, hopefully he was smart enough to remove and keep the catches before selling the car

2500$! shit I'd buy that right now and take it with me to the US and sell it there. I might just grab it if it's still around when I get back in town.

OP you're kidding yourself if you think you can get one for cheaper. Go rep tops if you don't want to spend the money.

As every single person in this thread has stated, the new price you're referring to equates out to half of the total cost.

When I bought my car 5+ years ago, tops were between 1800-2300CAD and that was right around when you could grab a nice minty low mileage AP2 for 14-16k.

Prices on the car and their parts are up and not changing anytime soon.

Assume there was a law, the hardtop was only an accessory piece and not a major component
And does this law apply to Japanese manufactured cars? since our cars are manufactured in Japan, not in North America

Someone please enlighten me on this

The complete hardtop is an accessory. Discontinued

The individual pieces, window, seals, etc that make up a hardtop are parts - they are still available

Technically not an accessory for a CR though.
