Nice and sunny all week. How could you not have your car out.
I've had my car out every year until December and have yet to see any rust anywhere on my car, including the underbody, and it's a 2000 with 115k.

It's so weird that you have to put cars away for the winter... I'm getting ready for my first winter car storage - so if your car needs servicing, do you get it serviced before putting it into storage? Or just save the service for after you pull it out of storage??
By service I mean - 20k service, new brakes, etc..

ahah yes I did have a light blue colored 1996 pontiac sunfire - nicknamed the sunchicken.
Ya, it's not so bad driving the 'beater'. Only thing is... on snow tires it's really loose, but just a blast to rip around town in.
racer chick - I don't think it matters when you do service on the car. Rule of thumb is to change fluids before storage, but things like brakes... I hardly think it matters unless your calipers are stuck... they may corrode and sieze over winter. not really sure though.

a good oil change and top off the fuel tank with a bit of fuel stabilizer. Pump up the tires and/or place something soft under them (carpeting, foam etc..), disconnect the battery, lift the wipers off the glass. Do the rest of the servicing in spring as needed. It's about all you need. Sucks having to put cars away up here hugh, but at least we put less miles on them this way, as compared to the sunny southwest. lol.
