Default Introduction and WTB AP1

Hi,

Wanted to say hi to the forum. I have been a Honda fan since I was young, rooting from my family's 2000 EK Civic Ferio. To date I have owned a '94 GSR, '98 EJ8 with B16A2 swap, '99 EM1, and a '10 CSX Type S. My first non-Honda is my current '09 BMW 335i. I have always wanted an S2000, but I always thought that I needed 4 doors and space so even though it's been financially feasible for me to own one, I feel that I was not ready to buy one. Now that my friends all have their racekoars, and I realized I could use my girlfriend's family's truck if I ever need space...I feel it is finally time for me to actually make this happen.

MY '94 GSR

'98 EJ8

'99 EM1 (this remains the favourite car out of all - I still have it, on the fence of selling it)

'10 CSX Type S

So here begins my search!

MUST BE:
AP1
Clean Title
Canadian Vehicle
Rust Free
Not heavily modified; Basic bolt-ons are OK
Less than 160,000 km

I have for trade is a 2009 BMW 335i; M Sport, RWD, 6MT, Twin Turbo N54 engine. 1 of 48 ever produced for the Canadian market in this configuration. Maintenance is up to date, with no accident history.

So yeah. I look forward to finally own an S2000 in my near future. CheerS!

Welcome! I sold my 135i (N55) in the fall and just picked up my AP1. You might have trouble getting a trade for your 335i here - Have you considered trying to sell your 335i first? Post it up on the BMW True North Facebook group. Good luck.

Thanks. I have posted it on e90post for about a week now, have a few people interested in the car but nothing finalized yet. How are you liking the AP1 compared to your e82?

I liked the 135i - the n54 135i and 335i go for pretty cheap (around $16k? 07-09 MY).

My 135i was also DCT (aka automatic), so I couldn't stand that lol I considered both e46 and e90/90 m3s as well, but decided against them due to various common issues, and potentially huge repair bills down the road.

There isn't much competition for RWD manual sedans, so if I were to look for that again, I'd go 335i.

I drove my s2000 for like 20 km when I picked it up a month ago (from buyer, to MTO, to detailer, to garage lol) and I enjoyed the S2K much more than the 135i.

I considered trading my 335i for a 135i as well, N54/6MT/iDrive combo, but it's too similar to the 335i. I might as well get something different if I were to get a new car. RWD Manual 4Dr is a pretty niche market I think...what else is there? 3 series, previous gen G37, previous gen IS250? Cadillac ATS? That's pretty much it. I want an e90 m3 as well, I love how s65 sounds and its 8400 rpm redline, but I feel like the same adrenaline could be achieved by an s2000 as well, minus the hefty repair bills.

I think a 335i+s2000 makes a great combo and for that reason I may just hold on to my 335i, save up some more and get an AP1 as my second car in the future, if there's not much interest in this trade.

Nice, I loved the short amount of time I've had driving the s2000. This is my 16th car, so I've had a chance to figure out what I do and don't like lol

Considering the maintenance costs on the n54 (I've got a few friends who spend $ every few months on something randomly going wrong), if I were in your shoes, I'd pick up an S2000 and pick up some reliable sedan as a DD. Your CSX looked pretty sweet, that'd be a good combo.

With the weather getting warmer, I can't wait to go top-down!
