Trulli's launch, heck the Renault launches is due to their optimal clutch engagement system that is not "launch control".
There's been enough races to make some guesses at the cars. The new Mclaren is a turd. The Williams is OK and needs further development, but net gain 0. Renault still have an excellent chassis, but like the Tinman needs a heart. BAR chassis is good, but more development needed for handling (maybe more Michelin integration) and it looks like they are having fuel ecomony issues (long pit stops). And Ferrari, still the best car, but beatable with a non-Micheal driver.
Kinda dissappointed with JB's performance. He didn't cut through the backmarkers like Kimi did last race. JB seems to be a good time trial guy, but can't turn it up a notch when required. Sato is the opposite, he can be aggressive when needed, but seems inconsistent at race pace.

The problem is the circuits. They may be beautiful and a treat to lap on, but not as great for race situations. There are simply no places to pass. That is what is ultimately killing F1. They need to have some passing and back and forth racing and less of 'passing in the pits'.
I was not impressed by Sato, yet again. Yes, he got 5th but his car was capable of much more. His race pace sucks. He should have been consistantly faster than Trulli or Alonso but showed that he can not do it lap after lap. JB couldn't do much in the race because there is no where to pass so he would tuck in behind the turbulent air of DC or KR and couldn't do a thing.
Can't wait for Monaco......

I don't believe that it is the Circuit design killing F1. Some of these circuits have been used in f! for years. The reason is simple. Best Car = Ferrari, Best driver = MS. A simple formulation that suggests that no-one will come near him. B.A.R. are improving every race so they should be now fighting for podiums every time. I think Button had an 'off-day', as It is him and Sato that broke the Lap record in Barcelona while testing there off-season.
You are right though, yesterdays action was drab. Let's just hope Jenson, Juan-Pablo and the rest of the boys can catch up... and soon!
