Lowering springs questions

Couple months ago I got a set of Neuspeed 55.20.65 lowering springs came with pretty new OEM shocks. Today I tried to install these things and replace the old OEM springs/shocks. But when I compare these two I don't see any difference in heights? Even after I installed and measured 3 fingers gap in there lol..

Neuspeed 55.20.65 should make car lower 1.25 inches as per the spec. Is it because the nut in the middle of the top hat need to be tightened a bit but how to make sure left/right the same height? Just use the spring compressor to reach it's maximum tension?

I know it's kind of dumb questions but I know quite little about suspensions... Thanks for all kinds of comments!

I'm guessing you didn't preload the suspension when putting everything back together

Preload means a test drive?

Most lowering springs, especially when brand new will take time to settle. You may not see the full drop for a week or two. Lowering springs are usually stiffer so they take some time to adjust.

Thanks! Now I understood. Basically the dampers/shocks are not adjustable, when the top hat is tightened then it's already not changeable... otherwise it would already be called as 'coilovers'

When I first installed my old Tein S springs, I didn't see much of drop until a few days later. Started rubbing like s*** after a few days.
You have to install it on your car first and let it sit for a few days to a week depending on the stiffness of the springs.

No. You preload the suspension before tightening up ALL of the suspension arm bolts.

Thanks all! I have just done peload on 3 corners and torque to spec, much better now... Still have rear passenger side to do.. I feel the reinstall rear suspension by my own is really hard, maybe I will use the car equipped Z jack to align the bolts?
