In the market to buy a S2000. Any help is welcomed!
I'm in the market to buy a S2000. I want to buy a 2006 or newer, just beacausmy research shows that a ap2 S2k is the better way to go (correct me if I'm wrong).
In my search to buy one, I'm finding some great cars in that year range and some have high kms (255k) but have been driven only in the summers and have stock everything. Do you think it's safe to grab a S2k with those high mileage numbers, or spebd more and get one with lower mileage? What would you do?

First off. Welcome to the forum Depending on how the car was maintained 255k still has some life left. If your looking to keep this car awhile there are some Fantastic options in the 100-175k range which is where I would put my money in. This is a personal preference as it all comes down to cost and other factors. Remember to take your time with this one. Having owned both an Ap1 and an Ap2. you should be happy with either An s2k is something a lot of us owners have emotional attachment to so making the right choice in the beginning so you wont have any regret later is the first priority.

good luck with your search, if you can find a member here selling an s2k I'd be more comfortable buying from someone on this forum.
If you are seeing s2k's with 255k kms they have been winter driven IMO. If I was on the search for an s2k I would not want one that was winter driven, a three season only s2000 will be in much nicer condition in many ways and rust can be an issue on winter driven Hondas. I have a 2000 acura integra that was daily driven 12 months per year with 190k kms so a newer s2k with that many kms would have been daily driven 12 months per year IMO, regardless of what they tell you. Not uncommon with s2ks in the GTA or US imports.

Look for examples that have about 10,000 kms per year or less, the lower the better though.

I owned both 2003 AP1 and now an '06. Generally, set a budget and buy the lowest mileage, not salvaged, not winter driven s2000 within that budget. don't be concerned about 20K kms. Really, the 2005 is an excellent choice for its overall packaging- but this depends on what you want to do. Flashpro? then '06+.
I really liked my '03 but am coming to love my '06 as well- for different reasons.
good luck
