I don't think you'd be able to suck up a whole lot from the oil fill.

Get some cat litter and some cardboard. dump a decent amount of cat litter on the cardboard and slide it under the block.

You can get at the oil filter with or without the air box, wear some nitrite gloves. dump the excess oil and re-screw on the filter.

The cat litter will suck up the spill and dispose of it in a plastic bag. Preferably at a local dump for free.

I've overfilled my vehicles before, just pull the drain plug and let some oil come out for about 5-10 seconds and put the drain plug back in. It is not as messy as you might think. Repeat if needed. Do not drive to Speedstar for this. I think pulling the drain plug isn't as messy as pulling the filter and you can control the amount to let out. Just wear a rubber glove.

I would say .25 L above full is perfectly safe, as you get .5L to 1L above full then you are risking aerating the oil.

Thanks for the input. With the drain plug, can I get at it without raising the car? (no jack stands on hand). Again... useless!

You will need a jack at least. You don't really have to get under the car as long as you can jack it up, I can reach my oil pan bolt without getting under the car. Jack up the passenger side , turn the wheels and try to reach the oil pan bolt with a good sized ratchet and 17mm socket. Don't get under the car in any dangerous position, just reach for the bolt from a distance where you won't be hurt if the car moves (chock the rear wheels and use e-brake). Otherwise try the oil filter method.

The drain plug is 17mm, but if your going to loosen the plug I'd suggest catching all the oil in a clean container so that if you drain too much out you can top it up, considering your oil in the pan is practically new.

Exactly what I was thinking. Turning the filter 7/8th of a turn after the gasket comes in contact with the block...without a filter wrench isn't easy.

Your best bet is to drain it, if you're uncomfortable doing it, there are a million and one shops in sauga that can do it.

Thanks guys... Is driving there dangerous? Albert wants to investigate what happened. I'd rather just let them deal with it. Again, an hour away at almost 1qt overfill. Is this dangerous?

Yes, you can potentially hydrolock. The fact they want you to drive all the way there blows my mind...
