Michelin Low Profile Jack

Thought I'd give everyone a heads up.

Michelin Low Profile Jack

299.99 Regular, on sale for 179.99.

I signed up for email alerts a while ago when I was looking to purchase one and they sent me an email today that it was back up for sale on the 31st.

Probably one of the best tools I've had. Paid itself off in time saved when working under the car.

2 3/4" to 24" range. Can't beat it

zeroptzero 01-29-2014 05:43 PM

I bought that jack when it was on sale last year at CT. It's a nice jack.

Jinderv 01-29-2014 05:52 PM

COOL

Adrenalize 01-29-2014 07:27 PM

I bought a 3 ton motormaster jack in the fall that said low profile (4 inches) but it still doesn't fit under my S :crycry: it's just shy of fitting under, maybe I'll buy this now...

Himura357 01-29-2014 08:05 PM

24" range. Thats the good one. I also bought a 24" inch one but its the princess auto power fist brand. It leaks fluid from day one. I'm too lazy to take it back or fix the seals... At least I only paid $100.

It still works but its cheap. Anyone want to buy it? lol.

I looked at the princess auto one and it apparently only lifted to 18.5" the one that did 23.5" was 399$ LOL

If anyone in the GTA is looking to pick one of these up this weekend, PM me first for savings

robbie_R 01-30-2014 10:43 AM

I can finally stop using the scissor jack first! Thanks for the heads up.

iDomN8U 01-30-2014 10:55 AM

The cheapest i've seen this go is 149.99. Still a good deal.

Waiting for my low-pro jack to die to buy this

Depends on how low you are. Mine barely clears.

zeroptzero 01-30-2014 04:26 PM

I bought this jack thinking it would be able to go under the front center lift point without having to jack up the driver side first. Well it was still way too short for that, but I still like the jack. I like the maximum lift height and ease of use, it's a heavy sucker lol.

S2K Type R 01-30-2014 04:34 PM

Harbor freight in the US seems to carry a nice affordable selection

http://t.harborfreight.com/catalogse...t?q=Floor+jack

kryptonite 01-30-2014 05:49 PM

^Yeah their comparable jack is $140. But it's the US and unless you're there already not worth the hassle.

Silvia_Drift 01-31-2014 07:06 AM

Does anyone know if this jack is aluminum?

And heavy as sin, lol. Nice jack to roll around, you don't want to lift it though :)

robbie_R 02-04-2014 08:17 AM

Well they've been sold out in the the locations I went to. The aluminum Motomaster one seems to be on sale too but I think it's only 2 ton. I'll probably just get low car ramps and keep using the 3T I already have.

2 ton can lift the whole car...

iDomN8U 02-04-2014 10:51 AM

2 Tons = 4000 lbs

It can lift the whole car and throw in a your Mama so fat joke in with it.

Got it! Last one at the Canadian Tire in Grimsby. This thing is huge and really heavy! It makes my 3 ton look like a child's toy.

Attachment 190762

Test fitting under the S. It cleared with just a few mm to spare.

Is your car lowered? How low?^^^ Looks like it JUST fits. I was hoping to grab this today or tomorrow.

Yes it is dropped a decent amount, I don't have an up close shot for reference at the moment but I have this for now:

Attachment 190743

the car could be lower, it's not slammed or anything. I would say there is a 1-2 finger gap maybe.

wojtekj1977 02-08-2014 05:14 PM

I have some jacks for sale (aluminum ones) if anyone is interested (Harbor Freight ones, 1.5Ton, weighing just 26lbs). PM me.

Thread Revival

Michelin low profile 2 Ton jack is on 50% off (normally $300 on for $150) from today until Sunday at Canadian Tire (Product #09-1052-2). Picked mine up today. Clearance is 2.75"...will only have to use one 2 by 4 to jack my car up now.

Damn you must be low as hell.

I have enough clearance to slide mine under the jack point. Maybe a couple of mm of room to spare

Probably at a 2 inch drop right now

kryptonite 10-24-2014 02:21 PM

Also, this jack is not for the weak! This thing weighs a whopping 96 pounds. Sounds like jumanji in your garage when you roll this thing around.

jvf1 10-24-2014 08:13 PM

I have one of these too. It's a beast. Great for the garage, but definitely not a traveling track jack! lol

Even at my height I have to use a piece of wood under the tires to be able to jack from the front centre jacking point. The sides are no problem but I'd rather jack the front up at once.

Yeah, even with this jack, I can't reach my front centre jack point without driving up on wood blocks first.

Damn it! I just bought the red Canadian Tire one.

I bought this jack one year ago thinking it could get under the front of the car to the front center jack point, but no go. Even with oem ride height it was a fair distance away from getting to the jack point. I still like this jack though, it works great. I will put a regular jack under the driver side lift point and jack the car up a bit and then the Michelin jack will roll under the front center lift point fine, the car just needs to go up a few inches.

afzan 10-25-2014 05:13 PM

Whats the reach on this michelin jack?

I'm guessing we'd need something like this Omega 29023 for the front center jack http://www.shinnfuamerica.com/Produc...ack/29023B/763

more info here:
http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...c-dk13hlq.html

edit: the total length of the Omega is 10" longer than the Michelin

myflys2k 10-25-2014 05:48 PM

I think I'm going to pick one of these up tomorrow. The one I have works ok for my S but when I go to lift my truck it barely gets the tire off the ground.

That still might not reach, because it is the high point of the angled metal near the base of the jack where the pumping handle connects that hits up against the lower bumper/lip well before the lift disc can reach the center lift brace.

With the Michelin jack I just have to jack up the driver side a few inches using any regular jack, and then the Michelin jack rolls under just fine and it doesn't hit the bumper/lip. Two-jack method needed, but no biggie.

^ Exactly. The reach isn't the issue, it is the thickness at the pivot end.
Still a great jack though.

A. Dos Santos 10-25-2014 10:59 PM

I bought one today too. Poor kid at canadian tire got yelled at by the manager for not restocking them. The kid must have been 100lbs. It's a f***ing 100lbs jack for christ sake, the kid can't lift it onto the cart to push it to the isle, let alone lift it onto the shelf.
My arms also gave out trying to carry the box to my car. One of those times I thought to myself "I should get out of the habit of parking at the back of the lot when i'm not in my s"

You're right.. the reach on the Michelin is about 18" (before the height gets too high) , the reach on that Omega is 25", but we need about 28" to reach our center jack point :(

I meant in terms of height clearance.

Not too shabby though, If I positioned the lift beams in the right spot I could probably get it to work

If your garage ceiling is less than 9' then, well, that sucks :roflmao:
