Molson Indy 2007
I didn't realize until today, but this year's Molson Indy (f-ck Steelback Grand Prix, it sounds like some kind of gay pron movie) might just be one of the best ever. Look at the list of series that are running this year:
Champ car CART
Formula Atlantic
SCCA SPEED World GT Challenge
SCCA SPEED World Touring Challenge
Star Mazda
Canadian Touring Car Series - Touring Car
That's pretty much every single series worth watching in North America today. In past years they have seriously lame fillers like CRAPCAR, F1200, etc. That always gave me tons of time to walk between the end of Lakeshore and the main paddock area. But this year it's going to be all action all day long.
So get your butt there this weekend. I'll be there on Friday.

I have to say this was definitely one of the most action-packed Molson Indy in years. Quite a change from a couple years back when CART was on the verge of collapse and every season felt like it could be the final one.
The CASC touring guys were nuts. I was at the first practice session when everyone were green to the track. It was like those Australian Super V8 races where the cars are way too big and the field is way too crowded for the little street circuit. I didn't watch the race so I have no idea how it turned out, but I'd imagine somebody probably stuffed it into the wall if they drove like they normally do at Mosport.
The Speed touring cars were horribly undersprung at corner 3. The FWD cars all bottomed out turning into Ontario Dr. More than one car cracked the oil pan and spewed oil all over the place.
Minardi had their two-seater F1 cars there giving out rides for $10k. The sound was f-cking awesome.
