Hey guys,

Just a quick update. I went o APH and received A+ treatment. Brian was extremely helpful and informative. So basically it looks like for what I want I need to go with a smaller turbo... specifically a GT30. Overall, less power, but more usable power as the turbo will spool sooner, and create a smoother power band, rather than the violent thrust I get with my Precision turbo.

A couple things. A GT30 from Garret isnt cheap. So I was hoping to sell my current turbo to cover a bit of this new expense. It seems that the little plaque that shows the model number has fallen off the turbo, so I have no idea what model it is. All I know it is a massive turbo with a t4 flange made by precision, and spools around 5-6000 rpm. Is there a way to find out specifics? And if so, any idea of whats it worth? Im hoping to find a used turbo on Kijiji, but cant really find anything...Are there alternative Turbos that I can look for other than the gt30?

Once I have the new turbo, I would go to APH for install, and necessary mods to the down pipe to make it fit, as well as a retune. And im set.

Help, once again is appreciated. Thanks!!

Contact splitfire, I'm sure they could tell you considering they put the car together. Look into the GTX3076, you get the quicker spool you want from the smaller turbo but able to move more CFM then a standard gt3076 because of the design of the compressor wheel. To my understanding the fins on the wheel are slightly longer on the ends which is what allows it to suck in and push more air

If you can't get any info from the guy, post a bunch of detailed pics on the FI forums here + some other turbo'd car forums that use bigger turbos and see if someone can tell you what it is. Take some basic measurements too while you're at it.
