The best I have ever done is 155mph with the top up; 143 with the top down. You'll 8K rpm and that will be the end of it. Seems to be either drag or electronically limited. I was holding 155 for like 2 minutes screaming "Come on!!". That was all she wrote...

Ok I did it....damn scary with the tires feeling like rocks. I did warm them up too, but the ambient is very noticable at high speeds.
I did the wind up on a road I know isn't patrolled and has little traffic..had to sit a while to make sure I wasn't going to hit someone in the rear....and i did it before it got dark, the speed I was travelling I wanted to atleast see deer.
According to the GPS, I achieved 157mph, 5mph slower than the speedo represented. I was shocked.
I set the speedo to MPH due to my GPS only having MPH. Someone else wanna try with my GPS?

Hey llivings - which patch of the 401E allows for that kinda speed... ??? I was thinking of doing some speeds in around Brooklin ON.. that's north of Oshawa.. but.. with my luck, I'll end up behind bars :-(
I thought living in the GTA NO ONE could enjoy open road speeding ever again.. Whenver I've tried.. I've seen red flashing lights behind me and my life altering ticket..
Damn.. you're lucky..
keep revvin'

Hehe,
Nowhere near the GTA that's for sure. I was about an hour east of the GTA when I did this and it was in the middle of a workday on my way to Montreal. I know what you mean about Toronto being crap for open road speeding.
Cya.
