I'd definitely do it before you put it away. You *probably* won't need a cat as long as your monitor are all ready, which they definitely should be - just don't disconnect the battery or flash the ECU right before you go.

Your first test is free, but all subsequent ones are about $34. You get 2 strikes before the computer tells the shop that you MUST do a tail pipe test. At that point, swap in a cat and you should be fine...but I'll guess I'll find out on Tuesday when I go back!

my second one was only $15 I believe.

I'd just go to a Jiffy Lube or something where they won't really care about whether your car actually passes, just that the reader says you pass. I brought mine looking pretty much like a race car with mismatched panels and a supercharger whine and they didn't care. Definitely didn't look under the car.

I got mine done at one of those oil change places, the guy in the pit came out and asked about the TP.. he was concerned I was wasting my money on a test because he thought it would fail obd2

Passed my emissions test after switching my cat back. What a royal PITA. For future reference, if you disconnect your battery when you put it in storage and you do a drive clean test after you take it out of storage, and it's an AP2, you'll probably need to drive at least 400-500 km before you monitors turn on. If you fail your first drive clean test, get/borrow an OBD reader to make sure all your monitors are on before retesting. After you fail your second test, you default to the 2-step idle test/tail pipe test, which is an auto-fail if you have a test pipe.

Yep I'm going to drive it all summer with the test pipe, if no dash light by the time September rolls around, I should be good! Will definitely get it done before storage. Although I think I'm going to buy a battery tender instead of removing it like I usually do for the winter next time.

e-test 2018 - PASSED

this is my e-test. Passed, no check engine light (disabled sec o2 with flash pro ). i blanked out the information.

edit: also the battery was disconnected over the winter. in the spring i put the battery in and i went through a full tank of gas before i did emissions test to set most of the monitors.

I did the exact same thing as you and passed all in the same areas.
Cleared by secondary o2 with my flashpro as well haha

i know this is probably a big ask, but anyone with an AP1 + Hondata wtih Kpro have a PASS, and has their printout?

Some say yes, others say no. I'm leaning no for logical reasons on how DriveClean looks at OBD2 monitors.
