you bet the EM1 is near bulletproof- mine is pretty much rust free after nearly 20 years on the road and 175k kms. Don't they say its more fun to drive a slow car fast? This is that car. Do the timing belts/water pump/maintenance and you're good. I drove the 2003 when it came out and I liked the hatch design and nicer seats...and it uses the 4x100 bolt pattern. If you're looking for something else, a friend of mine is selling his 2000 SiR out of Chatham- he too is the original owner and its bone stock and would be a good reliable winter ride too.

I've seen several high mileage 2003 SiR's on auto trader, so I'm thinking they're pretty darn reliable.

good luck-

I have one as my beater. You'll be happy with it for sure, the stock K20A3 is pretty slow but it's super reliable. I beat on mine constantly and its never given me any issues.

a kijiji search netted me finding a guy parting out an '03 Suzuka Blue. Located in Mississauga. If you're looking for parts, looks like he's got them. I'm going over Sunday (tomorrow) to check out the Suzuka Blue seats he's got.
Proper Parts Co. is what its listed under. https://www.kijiji.ca/o-profile/1014533866/2

I also found someone parting out a new civic type R in champ white, that sustained irreparable damage posted on kijiji, if I had the space and time i'd go for some of the parts but I don't have the room or time to mess with it.

I know it looks like it is in fixable condition, not bad at all IMO. Airbags went off so it had some kind of accident damage

This guy's a great seller, I picked up a second set of fenders/liners from him. When I went back for another part on Friday, as I pulled in I smelt oil and discovered that one of my VTEC solenoid bolts had snapped and I was leaking oil. He offered to drive me back to my place (20 mins one way) to pickup my truck as we waited for CAA.

yeah, he was telling me about getting into auto recycling recently- but he only buys interesting cars, rather than the pedestrian stuff. I asked him to be on the lookout for more s2000's and keep us in mind.

I spent the day in Toronto for work, on the way home I was driving behind an Audi S3 on the highway. I noticed it had a modular exhaust which was very cool, it had four tailpipes and two of them had electric flaps that opened and closed at different speeds. When the car stopped the four pipes would be fully open, as the car drove off at lower speeds two flaps would close. Then at higher speeds the two flaps would open and four pipes would expel exhaust. In stop and go traffic the flaps were constantly in action, wonder how reliable they would be in the long term, very cool system though.
