Orbital Polisher recommendations
 

Hi guys, thought I would throw this question out there and see what machine (manufacturer and model) was being used by forum members to detail their cars. Not looking to break the bank but would like a decent device. where to buy would be great too. Thanks in advance.

I have always used a porter cable DA , it's lasted me for years, very reliable and works great. I bought it years ago from one of the detailing suppliers back in the day, sometimes you can find them at some crappy tire stores. I am not sure where the best price is these days as I got mine years ago. .There are other models of DA polishers on the market now like the Rupes Big foot, Flex, Griots, etc. , but Id still get the Porter Cable if I had to get one again.

eshine.ca has a good assortment of different brands like porter cable, flex, griots garage, rupes, etc. Buy a nice kit of pads and polisher if you can locate a package deal , I've always used Lake Country pads with the Porter Cable machine and its been a tried and true setup for me.

Can't say it better than Joey just did. I also have a porter cable 7424xp and it's been good place to start.

Any brand like Rupes or better will be big bucks. Not sure if they are worth it because I have never used them, but the pros use the more expensive stuff.

Another good one is Griot's garage DA which you can find on sale sometimes with Autopia or Autogeek sites, I have one and it's been working great as well.

A good starter supply of DA polisher and proper pads and polishing and sealant products can set you back $400+. so you have to be committed to the process to make it work for you. You can get a lot of use from the supplies and machine if you have the time and a good back , lol.

For home use (aka not a professional that makes your living off of it) the Porter Cable is hard to beat. Been around forever and has been the goto choice for most people I know for their own vehicles for a long time.

I purchased a nice set of pads from Chemical Guys for a decent price and have purchased a good amount of products through Griots at decent prices as well.

I have and use the Rupes BigFoot LHR21 Mark II random orbital but I also tried the Griots, Torque and also a Makita polisher and if I didn't have the Rupes id probably be using the Griots Garage DA.
