Its a fact that when you raise speed limits, you reduce accidents. Why? People actually begin to focus. When your cruising at 100, guess what, you feel like you can multitask and get distracted.

Slower speeds also bunch people up together. If you have people driving different speeds they are more spread out. I typically speed up to get away from other vehicles on the highway and maybe they won't cut me off by accident.

Constantly increasing speed is not a solution, people will adapt to the new speed and you will need to increase it again. It would get to the point that the speed limit would be to high for most people...and cars on the road...wait a minute, maybe your on to something.
