Recommend a body shop that will do a small blend
My daily car has small rust bubbles starting on the wheel well. I don't know how I missed this but I did.
Now I want to have the rear bumper redone since it is chippy, but also have the shop fix that small spot next to the rear bumper where it bubbled.
The thing is, many shops want to blend the base coat and then clear the whole panel. This starts to get expensive. I'm just looking for a quick repair on that spot smaller than your finger to go with the bumper.
From what I understand, you can blend clear coat with a reducer. That way you can keep the refinished area small.
I'm in the Mississauga area. Can anyone recommend a shop where they know they can do a small area touch up instead of the full panel?
Thanks.

Nothing wrong with that. As long as its cut out, welded and etched properly before paint... should be no difference. But depending how color blind the bafoon is blending the QP, it might be noticeable. Bring a colorblind test book with you just in case.

This is why body shops scare me so much.

I mean bring it to someone and get then to take a look at it and see what needs to be done to fix it, if they say they gotta reclear the panel then do it. I've had bad experiences from multiple body shops and I'm tired of trying to save money only to do it over again.

The problem with touchups is the multistage paint and the new waterborne systems they use today and the fact that most shops have a hard time doing a proper color match. The entire panel will need to be cleared or it will not bond if you only clear in a small perimeter around the base coat respray. There is nothing wrong with clearing the panel, most of your original paint is still there.
