Damn, Just read through this. Heard the video and I was like jesus that doesn't sound good.

Cyl 4 doesn't look like it can just be bored out. That's some serious gouging. Probably easier to find a new/used shortblock and swap it in rather than rebuild. Worth getting the head cleaned up and checked for clearances, seats, retainers etc just in case.

Sorry to hear but this doesn't surprise me. I remember two years ago? At the old APH shop your car on the Dyno for a Dyno day and was detonating like crazy. I told you at that meet to not run the car anymore until it had a proper tune. IMO.. that's when the damage occurred.
Did the car get a proper tune since that day?

I had the car tuned by Sasha Anis right after the APH Dyno Day event and it turned out to be a clogged CAT (catalyst material broke inside and flipped 90 degrees blocking the exhaust under load. Installed an HFC and had it retuned... all within 2 weeks. Was running fine since then but there's always the possibility that some damage was done beforehand and took two years to finally breakdown.

There was something definitely in there smashing around. Have you checked to see if the blower is still intact? Spark plug tip/ceramic?

Removed pistons this evening... root cause = top compression ring disintegration. Blower and plugs are fine. Block needs to be sleeved... Crankshaft pulley and timing chain cover remaining before it can go to the shop for rebuild.

Ouch, that sucks. Sorry to hear about the failure.

Which shop is handling the rebuild for you? Seems like a good time to do a 2.4L stroker.

Active Engines is handling the rebuild - they handle rebuilds for Legendary Motor Cars and took the time to walk me through the process. Car goes in tomorrow and they have to inspect the block before determining what it can be safely bored out which will determine if dry or wet sleeves are appropriate.
