I strengthened the opening with aluminum flat stock and used some nut inserts(like a pop rivet) as attachment points for some aluminum brackets. Then I just mounted a spare OEM plate housing to it.
I will keep an eye on the temperature once I mount it on the car, thanks for the heads up guys.

I just walked by a 911 on the street. He had a decal of his Ontario front plate made and stuck it to the front bumper. I should have snapped a pic. It looked pretty clean and I didn't actually notice it was a decal at first glance. It was a white car though so probably blends in better than it would on a black car for example.

It would only be legal if you can read the Ontario logo, can't tell from Nick's pic if it is visible. I recall Darcy's Euro design didn't have the Ontario logo visible. Probably a low chance of getting caught though, unless it was me doing that , lol. Life's too short to worry about license plates in this "backwards" Province of ours.

Looks like the plate is folded on the upper and lower edges, good idea, I did not know that was legal but was considering this.

That's a cool idea, especially if you shrunk it down in size so every detail is still visible but just less obtrusive.
